Sightseeing Options There are many things that can be done by yourselves - however some things are just that much better with a guide. Have a read through the options and decide what you would like. If there are things not listed, these can be done too. For instance one group asked for a day trip to Alexandria to be added in. If unsure, feel free to call us for a chat.
Options that include a bus, guide and lunch are obviously the more expensive ones !!!!
Giza Pyramids (Half Day) Includes entrance to the Pyramids enclosure and the Sunboat museum. Also includes your guide, Nibal, and an air conditioned bus.
If it is your first, and possibly only, visit to Cairo ..... the Pyramids are a must. Steeped in history, they are incredible. Obviously if you intend coming back, you can be a bit more relaxed about it. They have been there for thousands of years and are likely to be there for a while yet!
Giza, Sakkara and Memphis Pyramids (1 Day) Includes entrance fees to all Pyramid enclosures - and Sunboat museum, air conditioned bus, your guide, Nibal .... and lunch.
For those who will appreciate the differences and want to see more of the ancient wonders. For many Giza is sufficient.
Egyptian Museum (Half Day) For those on a budget, you can do this by yourselves - it is walking distance from our hotel - you just buy a ticket and in you go.
Egyptian Museum (Half Day) With a guide - entrance fees included. You do, in my opinion, get a lot more out of it with a guide. But it depends on how much interest you have in antiquities. I think a guided tour is a good place to start - then those that have a deeper interest can go back and explore further.
It really is a 'must see'. The Tutankamun display is worth it by itself.
Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Mohammed Ali Mosque PLUS 1 other Mosque (1 Day) Includes entrance fees to Museum and Mosques. Guide and bus. Also lunch.
You do, in my opinion, get a lot more out of the Egyptian Museum with a guide. It really is a 'must see'. The Tutankamun display is worth it by itself. The Citadel or Fortress is a magnificent building with fantastic views of Cairo. Nibal takes you into Mosques - and, if you are lucky, will ask a local Iman to sing for you. Nibal is so knowledgeable about her country and Islam,. she is a joy to be with.
Islamic Cairo Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque, 1 more Mosque, a walk to the tent makers bazaar and explore off the beaten track. Includes entrance fees and lunch. This includes some walking - so sensible footwear. Please cover up for this option as there are Mosques and you will be walking in non tourist areas.
Oum Kalthoum Museum (Half Day) We take the metro from the hotel. This includes your entrance fees - but no guide as such. It is a nice opportunity to see a little bit of Cairo with few tourists.
Oum Kalthoum Museum and Coptic Cairo (1 Day) This is all in the same area. Easy to do by yourselves - or we can organise for a guide to join you at the Coptic museum.
