Yasmina of Cairo

Yasmina was a professional dancer in Cairo, the only UK dancer at the time to hold a licence and worked mainly at the Meridien Heliopolis. Kay met Yasmina on one of her early costume buying trips. She was very gracious and generous with the information she gave Kay about the Cairo dance scene. Kay was slightly in awe of this beautifully groomed creature. Kay describes herself as 'always hot, sweaty and in baggy, unflattering clothes on the streets in Cairo'. A bit of a contrast.

When Yasmina came to the UK to have her son, Azze, Kay cat sat for her in Cairo. When Kay started to take groups, Yasmina suggested having a party at her house. At the time she was married to band leader and singer, Safaa Farid. They had parties with live music, entertainment and delicious home cooked food. Yasmina is a gracious hostess - and folks often cite the party night as the highlight of their trip.

Yasmina also helps in the background setting things up. A great asset to Farida Adventures and helps make it a really special experience for everyone.
