Kay Taylor and Yasmina of Cairo have teamed up to bring you this once in a lifetime journey into the heart of Egypts music and dance.
This adventure will send you back in time to glimpse the world of Om Kalthoum and Badia Masabni. We have a night in Alexandria and spend time with of one of it’s most famous dancers. We fly to Aswan and take a 4 day cruise round lake Nasser discovering the Nubian culture and dance as we go. We take classes with a modern day Ghawazi and Saidi dancer.
You will have the chance to gather indepth knowledge on traditions such as the Tannoura and Tahtib but also be brought right up to date with today’s oriental dance scene, from one of Cairo’s current stars.

4 nights cruise on Lake Nasser – full board.
Guide and entrance fees to: Abu Simbel, Kalabsha Temple, Wady Elsboua temples and Amada.
On board we will have a Nubian class and talks on the history of the Nubian people.
Dance class and talk with one of today’s Ghawazi.
Dance class and talk with professional saidi dancer and the history of Tahtib.
Fly from Aswan to Cairo
2 nights accommodation at Yasminas or next door. There will be a free day here for optional sightseeing. We are based near the pyramids and the New Grand Egyptian Museum.
Party night – with our own orchestra recreating the glamorous era of the 40’s and 50’s with our amazing singer specialising in Our Kalthoum songs. Delicious homemade food and the chance to dance. We would love you to dress up.
