Teachers

Yasmina is co-hosting the trip with Kay taylor.
She will also be teaching some dance classes through the week and holding lectures/ seminars to put everything into context as we travel.

Yasmina has a wealth of knowledge from living in Cairo and has hosted tours of Egypt for international groups.  Yasmina and Kay have put together this itinerary that will create a very special experience for dancers.

Will be teaching a class on the boat, facilitating some discussions and generally organising stuff in the background.

We will have a demonstration and lesson with a Nubian troupe in Aswan.  Party time!!

We will have a lesson with Khariya – one of the last of this family of Ghawazee entertainers.

A demonstration of the art of Tahtib, an ancient form of martial art practiced in Upper Egypt.  We will also have a go ourselves.
We will learn about it’s history and it’s importance in Saidi culture.

A dance class and talk with one of Cairos top stars.
Oxana has agreed to do this – but it does depend slightly on her schedule – and she cannot say 100% so far in advance.

Who ever it is, it will be enlightening and challenging.
