We have now finalised the teachers for 2025.
We are delighted to welcome back lots of your favourite teachers as well as welcoming some new ones.
Safaa and the band join some teachers for classes with live music and of course, they play at our Gala show and for the competition night. On both there is the chance to get up and boogie with the band in a social setting.
We also have an fantastic line up of teachers, each brings something different to the festival, all have one thing in common: a passion for Egyptian dance and music.

Yasmina has been working as an international performer and teacher of oriental dance for over thirty years, including eight years in the clubs and weddings of Cairo with her orchestra led by Safaa Farid. She has appeared all over the Middle East and worldwide, both for general audiences and on the international festival circuit. She remains in Cairo where she hosts dancers from different countries for dance holidays and tours at her ‘Belly Dancers’ B&B’. She teaches workshops and lectures on the history and culture of the dance, and has produced seven music CD’s and two documentary films about the dance in Cairo for dancers everywhere.
and loves bellydance having fallen in love with dancers from the old black and white movies of the golden era. Passant is passionate about dance and explains both the music, the lyrics and the steps. She has her own unique approach.

a long-time member of the Forset el Sharq Dance Company at the Cairo Opera House, performing folklore/contemporary fusion in acclaimed productions that have toured internationally. Ashraf appears regularly on Egyptian television channels, and has his own Nubian troupe of dancers and musicians that perform all over Cairo at weddings, parties and various dance festivals. He has travelled to teach, including producing theatre shows in Japan. Ashraf’s teaching style is thorough but totally fun. He is a regular and much loved teacher at Camp Negum.
Over the last 20 years Shining has studied dances from the Egypt, North Africa, Turkey and Central Asia with a variety of instructors foreign and native to these cultures, but in order to gain a deeper understanding of dance in the context of Egyptian society and conduct research on traditional entertainment styles, she decided to move to Egypt in the summer of 2021. She now continues her work from her home in Cairo including her side projects researching the life of Nabaweya Mustafa, creating costumes for historical dance reconstructions, learning Arabic in order to improve her research, studying with local teachers as much as she can, and improving her weaving skills which she has been learning whenever she visits Luxor.
Heba is a natural born performer who began appearing at parties from the age of four! She has a diploma from the Cairo Conservatoire as a musician and vocalist, and has already embarked on her solo singing career.
including ballet, contemporary, Bollywood and Flamenco, and brings to oriental dance a passion and singular vision that makes her unique both as a performer and teacher. She is the director of Arabesque Dance School in Mons, Belgium, since 2000, has her own dance company and produces theatre shows in multiple styles. Rakiya is a dynamic and inspiring teacher who describes herself as ‘an eternal student’. She says: ‘There is only one dance, that of expression, of emotion, of the translation of the unconscious self.’
