Below is the timetable but it is a first draft and timings may change.
Day One: Monday 21st October 2024
- Arrivals 10 – 12
- 2 x Classes in the afternoon:
- Nasra Eman: Kowmeya style
- Sayed Toura: Tannoura dance
- Opening Gala show 20.00 – 24.00
Day Two: Tuesday 22nd October 2024
- 3 x 2 hour classes through the day:
- Rakiyya: Personal Expression
- Passant: Choreo and lyrics to classic song
- Yasmina: Develop your musicality and improvisation skills
- Early evening: Introduction to the band, the instruments and Q&A session
- Free evening
Day Three: Wednesday 23rd October 2024
- 2 x 2 hour classes on the morning
- Ashraf Kodak: Saeedi – with musicians
- Kay Taylor: Create a tabla solo with tabla player
- Afternoon: Trip to Khan el Khalili including an escorted tour around & time to shop and an early dinner of Egyptian pancakes.
- Evening: Tannoura – whirling dervish show with master musicians then bus back to hotel
Day Four: Thursday 24th October 2024
- Free morning for optional sightseeing / pool time
- Afternoon: 2 x 2 hour classes:
- Dandash: From folklore to classical Dandash style
- Amera Eid: Franco/Arab music – East blended with West
- 19.00: Guided rehearsals for those who have booked to perform with the band or enter the competition.
- Free evening
Day Five: Friday 25th October 2024
- Morning: 2 x 2 hour classes:
- Aida Nour: Technique and choreography Aida style
- Dandash: Explore baladi with Dandash
- 15.00: Showcase for competition / performers with band – come along a support the girls.
- Evening: Party night – relax and enjoy!
Day Six: Saturday 26th October 2024
- Departures – transfers to airport.
